Tribal Tattoo

Tribal Tattoo

http://www.tribals.com

I like the tribal tattoo as they are strong, dark and defined. They make a strong statement and they have some historical meaning too, they are not just some fluff that someone drew up one day and said ‘gee that looks nice, I’ll take two.’

I like the ones that start at the shoulder and then progress down the outside of that arm. They look like they are a piece of amour from a long forgotten era. Something to take notice of and respect.

What are your thoughts on the tribal tattoos?

What makes is it that makes a good tribal tattoos?

What is the most important element of the designs of a tattoo?

Tattoo design is one of the most important elements that you need to consider when you are contemplating getting a tattoo. There are many different kinds of tattoo designs out there and finding the right tattoo design that is going to suite your own personal tastes and objectives can sometimes be a long process. It is more that likely going to take weeks or months till you find a tattoo design that is going to sit-right with you, so to speak.

One of the first things to consider is what genera of tattoo design you want to get, for instance tribal, dragon or butterfly. This is usually the easy part of tattoo design selection.

When looking at all the different tattoo designs and trying to find one right for you is to think about whether you want a tattoo design that is just black or if you want one with lots of color.

There are lots of other elements that make up tattoo design other than just color, but color is a good place to start, just to get your mind into the processes of narrowing down your tattoo design selection and get you closer to the goal of finding the right tattoo design for you.

Tattoos and Piercing

Tattoos and Piercing

Who thinks that tattoos and piercing go hand in hand?

I guess if you can stand the pain of getting a tattoo or getting a piercing is easy.

But just because you like ink in the form of an image on your skin does not automatically mean you are going to like sticking a bit of metal in it as well.

I have noticed that there are a few Tattoo and Piercing Associations:

‘ “I've been trying to get tattooing legalized in Oklahoma for the last 10 years,” he said. “I was one of the originators of the Oklahoma Tattoo and Piercing Association and I'm on the board of directors.”

From http://www.adaeveningnews.com/homepage/local_story_062145933.html

‘Arizona does not require a license of tattoo artists, either. Tattoo and Piercing shop owners and artists of Tempe have had enough. They have formed a group called the Tempe Tattoo and Piercing Association that shows up frequently to City Council meetings in all their full-sleeve-tattooed-arm glory to try and make a change.’

From http://www.pvc.maricopa.edu/puma/dec04/pierced.html

And then there are the institutes

Do you think the two should automatically be linked together?

Or are there fundamental differences that should keep the two separate?

Tattoo

What does the word Tattoo mean to you?

‘A Tattoo is a design or marking made by the insertion of a pigment into punctures or cuts in the skin. In technical terms, tattooing is micro-pigment implantation. Tattoos are a type of body modification.

The word is traced to the Tahitian tatu or tatau, meaning to mark or strike (the latter referring to traditional methods of applying the designs). In Japanese the word used for traditional designs or those that are applied using traditional methods is irezumi ("insertion of ink"), while "Tattoo" is used for non-Japanese designs.

Most tattoo enthusiasts refer to tattoos as tats, ink, art or work, and to tattooists as artists. This usage is gaining support, with mainstream art galleries holding exhibitions of tattoo designs and photographs of tattoos.

Tattoo designs that are mass produced and sold to tattoo artists and studios and displayed in shop are known as flash.’

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattoo

What image pops into your head when you hear the word tattoo?

Do you think of a tough bikie guy in his leathers with a long beard and a tattoo on his shoulder with a hart and ‘MOM’, or ‘MUM’ for those of us who use the Queens English, on a banner across the hart?

Or do you think of a lovely fairy tattoo on the smooth slender ankle of an attractive young lady? http://www.tattoos-by-design.co.uk/library/index.asp?catid=44
